Albion boss Chris Hughton is weighing up whether to bring Dale Stephens back into the squad for Saturday's trip to Newcastle.
The midfielder targeted by Burnley has missed the last two matches to catch up on his fitness after injuries.
Hughton, keeping his cards close to his chest, told The Argus: "At the moment I'm making decisions on the squad. He is available. I've got to make a decision on that one."
Liam Rosenior has been ruled out by the ankle injury he sustained at Reading last Saturday.
That is likely to mean skipper Bruno reverting to right-back and Uwe Huenemeier or Rohan Ince partnering Lewis Dunk in the centre of defence.
Huenemeier made an hour-long comeback from eight months out with a groin injury in Tuesday's League Cup win at Oxford United.
Hughton said: "He's been fine. He trained this morning he will be in the squad to travel and then there are decisions I have to make but I'm delighted he has come through."
Irish midfielder Ritchie Towell faces a further spell on the sidelines with a knee injury which has kept him out of contention since mid-season.
Hughton said: "It's a frustrating one. He has been told he has got to rest for a period of time, then build it back up again.
"He's got another two weeks rest and then we hope it's fine when he comes back into training and he is able to push on from there."
Solly March continues his comeback from eight months out with knee damage in the under-23s against Fulham at the Amex tomorrow night (7pm).
Connor Goldson is expected to make his first appearance of the season in next Tuesday's Football League Trophy tie at Southend United.
