Jay Lovett is the latest player to join the Whitehawk revolution.
The versatile defender/midfielder has signed for the Hawks after being released by Eastbourne Borough at the end of last season.
Lovett had an offer from Grays Athletic as well as interest from Havant and Worthing but has opted to drop into the County League and will be part of the squad for tomorrow’s opening day trip to Three Bridges.
He joins a raft of new signings including Darren Budd, Justin Harris, Marc Whiteman, Wes Tate, Danny Davis, Matt Geard and Andy Alexander, who have all played at a higher level.
Joint manager George Parris is not concerned about the fact that most people are tipping Hawks for the title, having finished 14th last season.
He said: “No matter what club you manager there will always be a bit of pressure.
“Maybe there is more pressure here because of the players we have signed but that is something you take with the job.
“We have a great bunch of lads but they will need time to gel properly. Once they do we know we have a great team.
“We want to win the league or get promoted but we want to do it be entertaining the crowd which in turn will attract the supporters back.”
