Former Albion boss Dean Wilkins has been appointed as assistant manager at League One rivals Southampton.
The 47 year-old former Seagulls manager was unveiled as the first addition to new manager Alan Pardew's backroom staff today.
Wilkins was sacked as Albion boss in May 2008 after leading them to seventh in League One the previous season. He was replaced by Micky Adams and turned down a coaching role at the club.
