Darren Guirey insists there is no going back after quitting as Peacehaven manager.
Guirey, who led Peacehaven to the County League division two title last season, has resigned following a difference of opinion with the committee.
Although a new manager is yet to be appointed, Guirey says there could be no U-turn even if the differences were resolved.
He said: “There are a few issues with the committee which is why I have stepped down.
“If you haven’t got the full backing of the committee or they are not in agreement with the way you want to go then it is time to move on.
“I am gutted because I have worked hard. I kept my promise after saying I would get them into division one in three seasons. I can walk away very proud.”
Guirey intends to return to management at some stage but will not rush into anything. He said: “I will go back into it, definitely. But I will make sure it is the right job for me.”
Shaun Saunders, who was assistant to Guirey, and former boss Peter Edwards are currently taking training with Terry Hall but a permanent appointment is not expected for at least ten days.
