Portuguese striker Idalio Santo has left Eastbourne Borough to join Irish outfit Sligo Rovers.
Santo, who was better known by his nickname Xano, joined Borough in the summer but only made two substitute appearances for the first team.
The 25-year-old had previously played in the Portuguese Super Liga for Academica and was tipped as one of the country's hottest prospects as a teenager.
Xano caught the eye with an impressive performance in the 11-1 hammering of Crowborough in the Sussex Senior Cup last month and was on the bench for a Blue Square premier match for the first time against Mansfield two weeks ago.
However, he grew impatient at the lack of opportunities at Priory Lane and opted to move to Ireland as he attempts to relaunch his career.
Borough boss Garry Wilson said: “He definitely had something but the problem was he needed to get fitter before we could take a proper look at him.”
Meanwhile, Borough face playing four games in the space of nine days after their postponed clash with Altrincham was rearranged for Tuesday April 7.
