Albion midfielder Adam Lallana is hoping to help them progress off the pitch as well as on it.
The 32-year-old has vast experience in the game have played over 450 times in his career so far.
Albion fans are starting to see what he can do on the pitch, to help the team take that next step.
But speaking on the My Sporting Mind podcast Lallana feels he can also play a key role off the field.
He said: "Brighton are a club who want to do better and make that next step.
"The squad has got a lot of young talented players and I think by coming here I can offer this club an awful lot not just on the pitch.
"But with my wealth of experience, I have got.
"I feel I can help the younger lads especially that are here.
"It is not just on the pitch help, both technically and physically, but also with the mental side of the game, which by far is the most important.
"I only think you realise that the older you get.
"And if I can embed some of that in the younger lads, the mental attributes in the game then as a group we will be able to progress quicker.”
