WEST Bromwich Albion have held talks with Albion over a possible move for Shane Duffy, it has been reported.
The Baggies’ boss Slaven Bilic sees the Republic of Ireland international as an experienced player who can add some defensive steel to his side as they look to solidify their position in England’s top flight.
The Seagulls have already brought in two centre-backs during this transfer window, with Joel Veltman arriving from Ajax and Belgian youngster Lars Dendoncker also signing a two-year contract with the club.
Albion also have captain Lewis Dunk and Dan Burn as options at centre-back, while Ben White is set to return from Leeds after his season-long loan with the Yorkshire side expired.
Duffy has previously been linked with West Ham, with reports stating that the Hammers’ manager David Moyes was keen to bring the 28-year-old to the London Stadium. But it is believed the London club are restricted by a tight budget.
