Chris Hughton still hopes to add a wideman to his squad – despite securing Solly March on a new deal.
A wing raider and a centre-back top the Albion wanted list for the rest of the summer transfer window.
March is now on board until June, 2022, after celebrating his 24th birthday in some style by putting pen to paper.
Hughton is pleased with summer recruitment and does not expect much more activity.
But he would like to have a fourth winger and a fourth centre-back on board by the time the window closes.
Sources in Holland believe Alkmaar wideman Alireza Jahanbakhsh, who has been of interest to the Seagulls for some time, could be next to sign.
March will join Jose Izquierdo and Anthony Knockaert in the 25-man Premier League squad but Czech wideman Jiri Skalak is unlikely to make the cut.
Skalak was part of a double bid by Hull City which was rejected.
Tigers boss Nigel Adkins also wants Oliver Norwood, who he previously signed for Reading.
Hughton told The Argus: “I think we are very close. I don’t see a lot more business being done.
“We are still looking to strengthen if we can.
“We are used to having four centre-backs and four in the wide area.
“Jiri is here but I don’t think it is any secret he will probably go.
“I’m looking at two players for each position.
“We are flexible in the wide areas because we have Pascal (Gross) who can play out wide.
“But those are the only two areas where we are looking.”
Hughton is delighted to see March commit long term despite reports of interest from other clubs. He said: “I am delighted for Solly, as he’s worked extremely hard to get to this level and thoroughly deserves his new deal.
“He’s proved an important member of the squad in recent seasons, and despite being relatively young, Solly has collected a good amount of experience this early in his career.
“With our second Premier League season just around the corner, it’s great for Solly to commit his future to the club and now he can fully focus on the campaign ahead.”
