Albion are making progress on two further additions to their defensive ranks.
Fulham goalkeeper David Button and Red Bull Leipzig's versatile Brazilian defender Bernardo Fernandes da Silva are within the Seagulls' sights.
The Argus confirmed Albion's interest in both players last month.
They face competition for 29-year-old Button, who would provide back-up for No.1 Mathew Ryan.
Albion have already signed keeper Jason Steele from Sunderland following the exit of Niki Maenpaa and uncertainty over the future of free agent Tim Krul.
Meanwhile, 23-year-old da Silva can play in either full-back position or midfield.
Talks also continue to sign South African player of the year Percy Tau from Mamelodi Sundowns, although a deal for the 24-year-old attacker is difficult to complete.
