Pascal Gross has been hailed as one of the Premier League's best buys after romping away with Albion's Player of the Season prize.
The German No.10 received twice as many votes from fans as runner-up Lewis Dunk at tonight's annual awards ceremony at the Amex.
Gross polled 36 per cent of the votes, with central defender Dunk on 18 per cent.
Goalkeeper Mathew Ryan was third on 16 per cent, top marksman Glenn Murray fourth on ten per cent and midfield lynchpin Dale Stephens fifth with six per cent.
Gross has played the lead role in Albion's quest for Premier League survival since his £3.5 million move last summer from relegated Ingolstadt in the Bundesliga.
His equalising penalty in Tuesday's precious 1-1 draw against Spurs (below) was his sixth goal of the season, all of them at the Amex.
He has also provided eight assists, the majority for Murray. That equates to an involvement in almost half the goals Albion have scored.
Boss Chris Hughton rates Gross as one of the signings of the season. "I think he's right up there," Hughton said. "I am quite sure there will be other clubs that think they've had better value in individuals, but he has been outstanding for us all season."
Gross will have an opportunity to add to his tally if Albion are awarded another penalty at Burnley in their next match on April 28.
He took over spot-kick duties against Spurs following Murray's second failure in the home defeat by Leicester, when he was denied by keeper Kasper Schmeichel.
Murray missed the target with a penalty in the 0-0 home draw with Burnley in December.
Hughton told The Argus: "It's not any slight on Glenn. He's had four penalties this season, scored four and missed two.
"But Pascal is somebody who is used to taking penalties as well, so it was a close thing.
"If Tomer (Hemed) is in the squad it's a close thing between the three of them, but Pascal is used to taking them and I just felt that change might do us a favour."
Dunk (above) received compensation as the winner of the inaugural Players' Player, voted for by his team-mates.
Brighton-born Dunk has made a smooth transition to the top flight alongside Shane Duffy at the heart of a defence with a goals against record bettered only by the top seven together with Newcastle and Swansea, who have each played a game fewer.
Dunk's form has prompted calls for him to be selected by England, but coach Gareth Southgate preferred Burnley's James Tarkowski and Swansea's Alfie Mawson in his last squad.
Dunk said: "Obviously it's an honour to see your name being linked with an England call-up. I've dreamt since I was a small boy of playing for my country, like a lot of kids do, but I wouldn't say that the talk this season has distracted me in any way.
"If one day I've done enough to get into Gareth Southgate's squad then I'll be so proud, but it doesn't affect me while I'm playing."
Albion's veteran captain Bruno, recalled to the starting line-up against Tottenham, was also honoured at tonight's ceremony.
The 37-year-old Spaniard (below) won the Inspiration Award for his contribution on and off the pitch.
The award, in memory of Falmer For All campaigner Sarah Watts, recognises "someone connected to Albion, whose actions inspire those around them."
The Women's Player of the Season went to Danielle Buet. The 29-year-old ex-England, Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder was chosen as the stand-out performer by manager Hope Powell and her coaching staff.
Long-serving supporter Ken Valder was named Fan of The Season. The season ticket holder, despite battling illness, is a regular member of the 'Here to Help' team who answer visitors' enquiries on matchdays at the Amex.
The award honours solider James Brynin, who lost his life in Afghanistan.
Tate Willis landed The Albion In The Coummnity Award, voted for by more than 2,000 fans from an 11-strong shortlist.
Tate is a regular at the junior amputee sessions run by the club's charitable arm. Disability development officer Phil Broom, who nominated her, said: "The progress she has made in a relatively short space of time has been amazing."
Tony Bloom also presented Lancing training complex receptionist Susan Andrew with the Chairman's Award for best club employee.
Jose Izquierdo picked up the award for the goal of the season.
The Colombian winger came out on top in a poll voted for on social media.
He won it with his superb curling strike against West Ham United at the Amex Stadium that dipped into a top corner.
