Albion have made a late swoop in the loan window to land winger Rajiv van La Parra from Championship rivals Wolves.
The Dutchman is moving up the division to join the Seagulls until January 2 but will only be eligible until Ipswich's visit on December 29, since Albion are at home to Wolves three days later.
The last-gasp arrival of van La Parra may not be the end of Albion's business with boss Chris Hughton keen to cover all bases in the longer-term absences through injury of left-back Gaetan Bong and striker Sam Baldock.
Hughton said: "With Sam Baldock currently injured and Kazenga LuaLua having missed the amount of games he has, we have been very keen to bring in offensive options.
"In Rajiv we have a player who was a regular player in Wolves' promotion chase last season.
"He will give us pace and creativity in the forward areas and supplements our existing wide options. He is something different to the players we already have here and I am delighted to have him on board."
Former Ducth under-21 international La Parra has made seven appearances for Wolves this season, the last against Middlesbrough at the end of October.
He played 41 times last season as Wolves missed out on the play-offs in seventh place on goal difference.
La Parra, who was previously Bolton-bound until a takeover, is likely to go straight onto the bench against Birmingham at the Amex on Saturday.
