Duncan Maiyo and Pennina Wanjiru completed a Kenya double at the Brighton Marathon.
Maiyo triumphed in his first marathon outside his home country as he led home compatriots Dominic Kangor and Mutai Kipkemei in the men’s race.
The 24-year-old crossed the line well clear of former champion Kangor in a personal best of 2hr.10min.15sec.
Wanjiru was even more dominant in the women’s race as she took gold on her marathon debut in a time of 2hr.34min.25sec ahead of Lishan Dula and fellow Kenyan Eunice Kales.
