Lewes have named former Albion under-18s boss Steve Brown as their new interim manager.
Brown, 42, has been placed in charge for the remainder of the season when the Rooks will review the position.
He will be in the dugout for the first time on Saturday when Lewes host Kingstonian in Ryman premier.
Brighton-born Brown is a UEFA A licence coach with a wealth of experience in professional football.
As a player, he made 242 league appearances for Charlton between 1990 and 2002, twice helping them to promotion to the Premier League.
Later Brown made 47 appearances for Reading before injury forced him to quit playing.
Since then, Brown has worked as youth coach at Charlton, reserve team boss at West Ham before his two-year stint with Albion under-18s when he coached a number of players who went on to play for the first team.
After a stint as assistant-manager to Nicky Forster at Dover, he was appointed manager of Conference south Ebbsfleet United in June 2013 but left the club last November and has been out of football since.
Brown will be assisted at Lewes by Dave Jupp.
The Rooks parted company with manager Garry Wilson, assistant Danny Bloor and coach Dean Lightwood eight days ago. Since then, they have been run by a caretaker trio of Martin Hinshelwood, Steve Eke and Scotland No.2 Mark McGhee.
Academy coach Eke is expected to be in the dugout alongside Brown and Jupp on Saturday. Hinshelwood will revert to his role with the Lewes academy.
