Albion have been dumped on from a great height by arch-rivals Crystal Palace, by a revelation about the 'poogate' culprit.
The Seagulls' Championship play-off semi-final second leg defeat by Palace at the Amex in May 2013 was bad enough.
Even more of a stink was caused by the discovery of excrement in the Palace dressing room prior to their 2-0 victory.
Albion manager Gus Poyet was enraged by the security breach.
The Seagulls apologised to Palace twice, as soon as the mess was found and then formally a few days later.
Now, according to the Croydon Advertiser, the culprit has been uncovered. It was the Palace coach driver.
Palace defender Paddy McCarthy, quoted in a tweet on the paper's website, reveals: "The dressing room scandal at Brighton was thanks to our coach driver who couldn't control himself."
