A road has been closed after it collapsed leaving a 1.4 metre deep hole measuring three metres across.
The hole appeared in Fort Road, Newhaven, today and engineers from East Sussex County Council are currently repairing the road.
The cause of the collapse is thought to be underground water. The road will remain closed for at least another day until repairs are finished.
