A police CCTV van is keeping watch over Wild Park following a machete attack on October 5.
Sussex Police confirmed that the van had been placed between the park and Lewes Road in Brighton following the incident in which a man was attacked and seriously injured by two other men.
A spokesman added: “It is there with the knowledge and agreement of the travelling community who are currently staying at the site.”
The council said that staff have visited the unauthorised encampment and are undertaking a “community impact assessment in order to determine the most appropriate course of action”.
