A man whose car turned into a fireball as he was driving made a miraculous escape.
The man was driving into the car park of the Prince Regent gym in Brighton at about 7pm yesterday when his engine caught fire.
He managed to escape the car but was left to watch as it was destroyed by fire.
A spokesman for Preston Circus fire station said: “It caused quite a bit of chaos. The driver was unhurt but was quite shaken by the whole thing.”
Firefighters managed to put out the blaze in the Rover 200 before it could spread to other cars.
