Hundreds of bikers processed along one of the busiest road’s in the county in protest against Brussels diktats.
Motorcyclists claim proposed EU regulations threaten the right of owners to modify their machines and singles out their vehicles for regular roadside checks.
As a protest about 300 gathered at Pease Pottage service station on the A23 and rode in convoy to Madeira Drive, Brighton.
The ride, organised by the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG), was one of more than 70 that took place around the country this afternoon.
They were joined by Hove MP Mike Weatherley, who said: “I am not in favour of Brussels dictating freedom of expression.
“It was a peaceful way of making a point and I think other organisations can learn from it.”
Paddy Tyson, MAG’s campaigns manager, said: “The motorcycle industry has been under severe pressure recently with new licensing directives dissuading riders and what our congested roads need are more bikes, not increased legislation to discourage them.”
