Daleks, little green men from Mars, rockets and Buzz Lightyear all helped make a children’s parade out of this world.
The annual Worthing Children’s Parade on Saturday featured a host of eye-catching costumes and floats, all with an outer space theme.
Children of all ages from 17 schools came along to show off their creations and made a colourful spectacle as they made their way through the town.
They started off at Splash Point and walked half a mile along the seafront before heading back along Montague Street, Warwick Street and into Steyne Gardens where a charity fair was held for the rest of the afternoon.
Proceeds from the fair went to the Smiles Foundation, which supports children and families in Romania.
The event was organised by Lindy Stannard, who was inspired by the annual parade organised in Brighton.
She said: “The atmosphere was so wonderful, I wanted to do something similar for Worthing.
“This is our fourth one now and it is getting bigger every year.
“I’ve already had calls from other schools who want to take part next year.
“We were really lucky with the weather this time. Things were so bad on Friday we were beginning to worry about what was going to happen on the day but we said we would definitely do it as long as it was safe.
“Everyone turned up prepared to be soaked but the weather held and we had a great day.
“I’d like to thank everyone for their support.”
