Revellers were forced to flee a party in terror after a man wielding an axe tried to attack them.
Some people were injured after the man smashed his way into the rave in the early hours of Saturday.
Police were called to the basement of a disused office block next to a parade of shops in New England Road, Brighton, after terrified people dialled 999.
Dozens ran screaming from the room, which had only one door in and out, after the man got in at the back of the building.
