A euthanasia doctor has vowed to give a workshop on dying in Sussex.
Dr Philip Nitschke, known by critics as Dr Death, was due to give a talk and workshop on how to commit suicide, in Eastbourne next week.
But when the venue discovered who their controversial speaker was, they backed out, forcing Dr Nitschke to change his plans.
Yesterday the Australian doctor said he had found another an alternative venue, although bosses at the Under Ground Theatre in Eastbourne told The Argus the booking was not “definite”.
Dr Nitschke, who leads the organisation Exit International, said: “I have a lot of trouble with events getting cancelled at the last minute, but luckily this time we have been able to find an alternative.
“We tried to hold our very first event in Eastbourne a few years ago, but then it was cancelled. Now it has become something of a personal goal to get there."
