A student killed herself after researching hanging on the internet.
Melissa Smith, 20, described as a “sweet girl with lots of friends”, became ill with depression during a break from university.
An inquest into her death was told that she was admitted to The Priory Hospital, in Hove, for treatment and her family and doctors said she had improved dramatically.
But after enjoying a night out with friends Melissa’s father discovered her hanging body at her family home in New Road, Upper Beeding on November 20 last year.
The inquest in Worthing was told that she had not left a note.
West Sussex Coroner Penelope Schofield said Melissa had researched hanging on the internet in the weeks leading up to her death.
She recorded a verdict of suicide.
