A schoolboy who suffered horrendous injuries after being smashed in the face with a golf club has charted his amazing road to recovery on YouTube.
Harry Wood, 14, was left with a broken cheek bone, a fractured eye socket and without most of the sight in his left eye after a friend accidentally hit him at Tilgate Forest Golf Club, Crawley.
But the teenager, who said he was determined not to let the life-changing injuries get him down, added by keeping happy he made the trauma easier for himself and his family.
Harry said: “Apart from the scar on my face and the altered vision I believe I am my normal self. I accept it’s happened and I can’t rewind.”
Giving advice to others on how to cope with such injuries, he said: “Stay on top of your game, keep happy and make everyone around you happy no matter the pain or suffering involved.
“It will do the greatest good and make the whole period a lot easier to take in. I guarantee.”
The YouTube video, which documents Harry’s six month’s of recovery and is intended as a thank you to medics who treated him, starts with images taken shortly after the incident in July.
