Abuse of free parking in a city park will be investigated after thousands of complaints.

A 2,200-strong petition was presented to Brighton and Hove City Council this week calling for action on the parking problems in Preston Park.

Park users say some drivers are dumping their cars for weeks at a time because of the area’s lack of parking regulations.

The council has now agreed that a working party is set up to investigate the problem, but critics say more needs to be done.
