Brighton’s Ghost Walk guide has had to have part of his finger removed after a minor cut became infected.
After catching his nail in a minor accident, Rob Marks was left in agony on an intravenous drip in a specialist plastic surgery hospital and underwent four bouts of surgery.
Mr Marks, 50, who lives in Golden Lane, Hove, contracted the infection while picking up a bag on one of his spooky walks through The Lanes about three weeks ago.
The walks are on hold until he recovers. Laughing, he said: “I suppose missing limbs makes me look a bit scarier.
“I can’t believe a small nail infection could spread like this.”
