A series of motorbike accidents including one fatal were reported this afternoon.
An accident on the M23 at just before 4pm claimed one motorcyclist’s life while another was left in a serious condition after a collision with a car on the A23.
The motorway was closed in both directions at junction 10 after a fatal accident where a motorcylist came off his bike.
The victim was found lying in the road and was pronounced dead at the scene.
At 2.30pm a motorcyclist heading out of Brighton was involved in a collision with a red Peugeot 206 on the A23 at the Varndean Road junction.
The biker was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police were not able to say whether these were likely to be life-threatening.
The road was closed between the junction with North Road and Carden Avenue.
Another collision involving a motorbike and a push bike was reported at just after 4pm on Western Road. Only minor injuries were sustained.
