Firefighters were called to a second forest fire in as many days.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called to Chelwood Vachery on the A22 at Wych Cross, after a patch of gorse caught fire in the Ashdown Forest at 1.45pm today.
The blaze damaged an area of 15 metres by 30 metres but firefighters managed to extinguish the flames in about 40 minutes.
The crews will remain in the area damping down hotspots and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
