A Brighton pub has been closed by on police orders.
The Bevendean Hotel in Hillside, Higher Bevendean, was closed on Saturday.
It is expected to remain closed until a review at Brighton Magistrates' Court this week.
Police said the closure was "due to a number of incidents this year resulting in serious violence and injuries, as well as intelligence to suggest that further disorder was likely".
Chief Inspector Simon Nelson said: " A majority of licence holders in the city operate safe venues, requiring low levels of support and intervention by police, but there are occasions when we need to take robust action to prevent serious violence.
"I strongly believe that this decisive action has been in the interests of local communities."
