A murder trial jury was today due to visit the storage firm where the victim's body was allegedly hidden.
A coach was being provided to take jurors to Big Yellow Self Storage, in Coombe Road, Brighton.
The prosecution alleges guitarist Graham Coutts strangled teacher Jane Longhurst and kept her body in the warehouse for more than three weeks before it was dumped and burned.
Judge Richard Brown said at Lewes Crown Court that Unit C50, where the body was allegedly kept, had since been sealed but the jury could view a unit of similar size.
Coutts, 35, of Waterloo Street, Hove, denies murdering Miss Longhurst between March 14 and April 19 last year.
Miss Longhurst, a 31-year-old teacher at Uplands School for children with learning difficulties in Hollingdean, Brighton, lived with her partner in Shaftesbury Road, Brighton.
The prosecution alleges that Coutts strangled Miss Longhurst at his home and burned her body near an RSPB sanctuary at Wiggonholt Common, near Pulborough.
The fire was discovered by Daniel Fowler, of Amberley near Arundel, as he was driving home.
In a statement read to the court, he said he noticed flames leaping 3ft high. He feared the blaze would spread to nearby forest and called the fire brigade.
The court heard firefighters found Miss Longhurst's body and extinguished the flames.
Fire investigators said petrol had been used and their conclusion was that the blaze had been started deliberately.
The trial continues.
