Reports of a body on a railway line caused delays to trains betweeen London and Brighton.
Police and rail staff were called to a junction near Balcombe Tunnel at about 2.45pm today.
At 3.30pm replacement bus services were being arranged to take passengers between Haywards Heath and Three Bridges while work continued at the scene.
