A man who sued police bosses after being hurt during a protest has lost his case.
Tony Greenstein, 55, a welfare rights advisor from Hollingdean, Brighton, suffered bad bruising to his arm after being held by Sussex Police officers during a demonstration in Palmeria Square, Hove, in August 2006.
Mr Greenstein had reacted angrily, swearing at police after evidence gathering officers began filming a conversation he was having with a supporter of Israel at the scene.
He was grabbed by an officer and warned but was released soon afterwards.
Mr Greenstein sued the police for battery and false imprisonment but had his case dismissed at Brighton County Court in March 2009.
The Court of Appeal has now also rejected his complaint and ordered him to pay the £20,000 legal bill.
