IRA bomber Patrick Magee is not planning to attend the official 25th anniversary memorial of the Brighton hotel attack.
Claims made in The Independent suggested Patrick Magee, who planted the IRA bomb at the Grand Hotel during the Conservative Party conference in 1984, could attend the memorial service on October 12.
Jo Berry, whose father Sir Anthony Berry was killed in the blast, denied claims that she had invited Mr Magee to visit Brighton on the same day.
“There is no way that was ever suggested,” she said.
“I like to do things sensitively and wouldn't do anything like that.
“It would not be fair on the victims of the Brighton bombing."
Manager of the Brighton Grand, Michael Knox-Johnston said that plans for the 25th anniversary memorial were still in the early stages, but Mr Magee would not be invited.
