A young angler has landed the nation's biggest ever silver bream after catching a 2lb 8oz fish.
But James Waters, 11, from Bognor, may miss out on writing his name in angling history because the specimen - six ounces more than the current best of British - was not officially witnessed.
His dad Steve said: “I thought the record was around 5lb so didn’t bother having it witnessed.
"It was only when we got home and I checked the record list I realised how big his fish was."
