A personal trainer has vowed he will make it into the Guinness Book of Records despite failing in his first attempt.
Pete Dudley wanted to break the existing record of 54 squats while standing on top of a giant inflatable ball.
The 38-year-old from Brighton went for the record during a fundraising charity night at Wickwoods Country Club in Albourne, near Hassocks.
The squats involve balancing on a 65cm exercise ball, bending the knees until they reach a 90 degree angle and then straightening them up again at a rate of almost one squat per second.
However nerves got the better of him during the event on Friday and he only managed 25 knee bends before losing control.
He said: "I will be trying again this week and I won’t give up until I make it."
