A teenager was found dead at the foot of cliffs.
The 14-year-old boy was discovered after emergency services were called to an incident at Splash Point in Seaford shortly before 10pm last night.
The boy, who Sussex Police say was local, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A police spokesman said: "Emergency services responded to an incident at Splash Point in Seaford shortly before 10pm on Thursday, February 29.
"A 14-year-old local boy was tragically discovered at the foot of the cliffs and pronounced deceased at the scene.
"His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time.
"There are no suspicious circumstances and this will now be a matter for the coroner."
Seaford Head school sent a message to parents informing them of the "sudden and unexpected death of a student that attended our school".
The school provided a list of support networks including Winston’s Wish on 08088 202 021, the Samaritans 24 hour listening support line on 116 123 and SANEline, with help, support and information to anyone affected by mental health on 0300 304 7000. The email also provided contact details for Childline on 0800 111, Young Minds, a free text messaging support for young people by texting YM to 58258. The Sussex Mental Healthline number, 0300 5000 101, was also provided.
