A body was found in a public park as emergency services searched for a missing woman.
The coastguard, RNLI and police officers were looking for the woman late on Sunday night (January 7), with a police helicopter later brought in to assist.
It was confirmed that a body was found in Brooklands park, Worthing, on Monday morning.
“We are very sorry to report that a body has been found in the search a woman who was reported missing,” said a spokeswoman for Sussex Police.

“Her next of kin have been informed and there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
“Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time. We would like to thank the public for their help in trying to find her.”
The Argus understands that the incident has now been passed to the coroner.
