Our camera club photographers were out and about during Storm Ciarán as 15 foot waves and 60 miles per hour gusts battered the county.
An amber weather warning was in place for much of Thursday with a "danger to life" warning from flying debris.
The coast was given a battering with the huge waves seen at Newhaven as they crashed over the lighthouse at the end of the harbour arm.
People braved the weather and ventured out to see Brighton beach where huge waves were crashing against the shoreline.

While the worst of the storm appears to be over, a new weather warning for rain has been issued for Saturday afternoon and into the evening - including during Lewes Bonfire.
The Met Office warns of frequent heavy showers from 3pm to 11.59pm across the county.
Part of the seafront was shut off as giant waves reached dangerously close to the promenade during high tide.
A beach hut was also damaged by the storm.
Large areas of Sussex were flooded as heavy rainfall fell over the county.
In Bersted, near Bognor, camera club photographer Joanna Kaczorowska catured the reflection of a tree in flooded grassland.
Roads were left impassable by fallen trees, flooding and fallen power cables, with around 2,000 homes across the county left without electricity.
A tornado alert had been in place overnight for southern England by the Tornado and Storm Research Association, with the organisation confirming it had received a report of a possible tornado in the area.
