A bus has been left gutted after a blaze ripped through the vehicle.
The Stagecoach service is understood to have caught fire earlier this morning in Horam, near Heathfield.
The road was closed to traffic during rush hour while the bus was taken away from the scene of the incident.
Three fire engines from across East Sussex were called to the scene of the blaze.
A spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 07.07am on 5 October to reports of a bus on fire in North Street Hailsham.
"The bus was evacuated and there were no casualties reported.
"There were three fire engines in attendance from Eastbourne and Herstmonceux. Crews used breathing apparatus, one hose reel and two main jets to extinguish the fire.
"Sussex Police supported with road closures."
A spokesman for Stagecoach said: "We can confirm the bus involved was a route 51X service travelling from Hailsham to Tunbridge Wells.
"All passengers on board safely exited the bus before the fire took hold.
"Safety is our absolute priority and we are assisting the investigation into the cause of this incident."
