A body was found on a beach near a sailing club.
Emergency services responded to reports of the body of a man on Lancing Beach this evening with members of the public and paramedics commencing CPR at the scene.
The man was later declared dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "Police responded to a report of a body on Lancing Beach at around 5.58pm on August 30.
"Despite the best efforts of members of the public and paramedics who commenced CPR the man was declared deceased.
"His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers at this time.
"There are no suspicious circumstances and it will be a matter for the coroner."
Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and fire crews also attended the incident alongside HM Coastguard.
Police cars were seen on the beach with members of the public in life jackets at the scene.
