Emergency services are attending a tractor and trailer fire.
Firefighters were called to the blaze on the A22 Forest Row near East Grinstead at 3pm this afternoon.
The tractor has been destroyed and firefighters had to pull hay off the trailer to try and put the fire out.
Crews from West and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Services attended.
The road is closed currently.
A spokeswoman for ESFRS said: “We were called at 3.02pm to a tractor well alight on the A22, Forest Row.
“The road is currently closed and we would anticipate this to remain the case for some time.
“Firefighters from both East Sussex and West Sussex are using firefighting foam to extinguish a tractor fire on the A22.
“The road will remain closed for some considerable time. Please avoid the area.”
