A third boy has been arrested after a suspected arson attack at a primary school.
Two boys, aged 13 and 15, were initially arrested after a shed was set alight at Carden Primary School in Patcham last Monday, August 7.
Sussex Police have now arrested a third boy aged 15 on suspicion of arson.
All three have been released on conditional bail following the devastating fire which damaged multiple classrooms of the school.
A police spokeswoman said: “The two boys arrested have been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
“A third boy, aged 15, has also been arrested on suspicion of arson and released on conditional bail.”
The fire started at around 7.15pm last Monday and four fire engines attended.
Carden Primary School said it was “shocked” by the fire but is already looking at fundraising and rebuilding the damaged section of building.
Alistair McNair, chairman of the governors, said: “It was severe, and will take time and effort to get over, but fortunately the fire was localised. It is still being investigated. One classroom at least was severely damaged.”
