There has been a new application to extend permission for the temporary installation of an ice rink on Royal Pavilion Eastern Lawns "annually during the winter months".

Plans for the ice rink state that the structure will include "ancillary buildings for box office, café/bar/restaurant, toilet facilities, skate exchange, learner's ice rink and associated plant and lighting".

Permission is being sought to be allowed the ice rink for a further two years.

Brighton and Hove City Council has released its weekly list of planning applications which features a variety of projects, from alterations and extensions to new constructions and changes of use.

The list covers applications that have been submitted to the council between July 10 and July 16.

In Hove's Brunswick and Adelaide area, an application has been registered in Lansdowne Place to convert office space on upper floors to provide four flats and make alterations to a retained flat at third and fourth floor level.

Other applications in this area include internal alterations to a flat in Brunswick Terrace and the erection of a second-floor rear extension in Cross Street.

Kemp Town, too, has seen a flurry of applications, with proposals for a single-storey side return extension, a two-storey rear extension with a roof terrace, and internal alterations in New Steine.

Meanwhile, Preston Park could see the redevelopment of existing garage blocks to create two chalet-style dwellings in Bavant Road.

There are also proposals to create a first-floor rear roof terrace and convert a six person small house in multiple occupation to a seven-bedroom house in multiple occupation in Egremont Place, Queen's Park.Other applications include the conversion of a second and third floor from retail to a residential unit in North Street in Regency and the erection of a two-storey rear extension and balcony in Park Mansions in Preston Park.
