A man has died after emergency crews were called to reports of a person in the sea.
An air ambulance, along with ambulance crews and police, were called to Eastbourne Beach yesterday following reports of a man in the sea shortly before 12pm.
A police spokesman confirmed that a 39-year-old man died at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed. Police have said his death is not thought to be suspicious.

The spokesman said: “Emergency services responded to a report of a man in the sea at Eastbourne beach shortly before 12pm on Wednesday, June 28.
“Sadly, a 39-year-old man was declared deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
“There were no suspicious circumstances and a report will be prepared for HM Coroner.”
