Motorists are facing severe delays on the A27 following a crash involving three vehicles.
The highway is partially blocked in both directions from the Glynde turn off, near Lewes, to the Ripe turn off.
Traffic is understood to be moving slowly past the accident site, which is understood to have involved three vehicles.
Sussex Police have been approached for comment.
