What a year it has been.

We have seen storms, flooding and even wildfires in our county - and drone photographs have shown them all from above.

The Argus has put together a roundup of some incredible drone pictures of Sussex from 2022.

1. Early spring sunshine

We were graced with some wonderful weather this year. Brighton never looks better than with blue skies above.

2. Bizarre new perspective on the South Downs

At first it is hard to make out this photograph. Michael Brown, a drone photographer, had some fun over the South Downs National Park with this image.

3. Alfriston flooding

Is it a year in Sussex without flooding at Alfriston? This dramatic photograph shows the calm after the storm which caused the River Cuckmere to buyrst its banks.

4. Barbados or Brighton?

As we are well in to the bleak midwinter, it is hard to believe that the Palace Pier has ever looked so vibrant. 

This photograph from 2022 makes us excited for next summer.

5. Deserted care home blaze

Thankfully no one was hurt when this historic building in Haywards Heath went up in flames.

6. Stunning coastal views

A bit of winter sun earlier this month illuminated the white cliffs at Saltdean.

7. Our beloved West Pier damaged during Storm Claudio

This incredible picture shows our West Pier being battered by Storm Claudio in November. Luckily, only a small piece of the pier fell into the sea.

8. Grassland left charred after a midsummer wildfire

We saw some scorching temperatures this summer, with highs of 35C. A wildfire broke out in Walberton, near Bognor, and this was the aftermath.

9. Beachy Head lighthouse

A favourite among residents and tourists alike, we always love to see the red and white lighthouse in all its glory.

10. Snow casts Sussex in beautiful light

Heavy snow hit Sussex at the start of December, transforming our towns and cities into winter wonderlands.
