A major road in Newhaven has reopened after a three car crash earlier this afternoon.

The A259 Newhaven Road was closed in both directions due to a collision near the Denton roundabout just after midday this afternoon, where minor injuries were reported.

The road was partially reopened in one direction to ease traffic, however it was closed again in both directions to recover the vehicle and clear the road, leading to severe congestion both to and from Seaford.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said officers were called to a three vehicle collision on Seaford Road at about 12.30pm on Wednesday, December 28.

There were minor injuries to those involved, and the road has since reopened.
