A PETROL station in Brighton Marina was closed off this afternoon to put out a lorry on fire.
Two fire engines responded to the incident at Asda petrol station in Brighton Marina just after 3pm.
The Asda tanker lorry appeared to catch fire underneath the front of its tanker, behind the cab.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service deemed the cause of the fire as accidental.
A spokeswoman said: "We were called today at 3.07pm to attend a vehicle fire at Marina Petrol Station, Brighton Marina Village, Brighton.
"Firefighters from Roedean and Preston Circus attended.
"Crews used one Hose Reel and one Jet Hose to extinguish a fire on an HGV.
"The cause of the fire was deemed accidental and there were no casualties.
"We left the scene at 3.48pm."
Access to Marina Way was closed off briefly.
The petrol station remains closed.
Asda has been approached for comment.
