FIREFIGHTERS tackling a van fire in Henfield are urging drivers to avoid the area.
Crews from across West Sussex are fighting the fire in Wheatsheaf road, with engines from Burgess Hill, Shoreham and Partridge Green at the scene.
Firefighters received the call at 11.50 this morning.
People living in the area have been urged to keep their windows and doors closed as smoke from the burning van spreads.

A West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: "Our crews from Partridge Green, Burgess Hill and Shoreham are currently dealing with a fire involving a van on Wheatsheaf Road, Henfield.
"If you live nearby, please keep your doors and windows closed.
“Joint Fire Control received the 999 call at 11.50am this morning.
"We would urge drivers to avoid the area for the time being."
UPDATE AT 1.20pm: West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the fire has been extinguished.
A spokesman said: "The fire is now out.
"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one high pressure hose reel and a fog nail to extinguish the fire.
“They remain on scene at this time, damping down any remaining hotspots.”
