A MAN was found dead at the bottom of some cliffs.
Police were called early yesterday morning due to fears for a man's welfare, and an RNLI lifeboat was launched from Eastbourne at 5.30am to assist.
Coastguard rescue teams from Birling Gap and Eastbourne also attended, but a man's body was found at the base of cliffs near Eastbourne.
Sussex Police said: "Police were called around 4.40am on Sunday due to concerns for the welfare of a man.
"Officers carried out a search, supported by HM Coastguard and the RNLI.
"Sadly, a body was found at the bottom of cliffs near Eastbourne.
"There are no suspicious circumstances and the coroner’s officer has been informed."
The body is the third to be found in areas near Eastbourne in three days.
On Friday a woman was confirmed to have died after reports of someone falling from the cliffs at Beachy Head.
On Saturday, a woman's body was found on the beach near Birling Gap.
Police said there was no suspicious circumstances in each case.
