FIRE crews were called to reports of a parked car which had caught alight.
A team from Battle Fire Station remains at the scene in Church Lane, Catsfield.
Police are also at the scene and have closed part of the road to allow fire crews to work.
Rother Police posted an image (above) of a badly damaged car on social media.
The windows had melted and there were scorch marks covering the body.
A caption accompanying the image read: "(We are) working with a crew from Battle Fire Station while they extinguish this parked unattended car fire."
